The Journey

In 2002 I sailed for about half a year in the vicinity of Fiji; in between some of the more than 300 Fiji islands , to the - for the most unknown - little country Wallis and Futuna, and to New Caledonia. A fantastic experience that I think back to almost every day. I miss those days - the islands, ocean and living on a boat - and would love to return to the Pacific Islands. In a sailboat, with plenty of time to get to know the islands and people.

And that will happen! From summer 2010 I hope to start a long sailing voyage with my boat, obviously with the Pacific Ocean as my final destination. I start in the Netherlands. So I have a long journy ahead... Quite a project, especially since I'll mostly travel alone and I actually don't have that much experience with sailing and technology/reparing. But by acknowledging your own limitations and weaknesses, taking sound decisions and learn as much about pretty much everything that has to do with boats and sailing I am confident that I'll do well and stay say.
